Intervals of the Major Scale

The major scale is built from the intervals root (1), second (2), major third (3), fourth (4), fifth (5), sixth (6) and major seventh (j7). To reach these notes in all positions on the guitar neck, five different fingering patterns are needed. To move such a pattern to a key other than A major, use the transposing table.
