Construction of the minor 7th arpeggio

Minor 7th arpeggios are built by stacking a minor third (from the root A to the minor third C) followed by a major third (from C to the fifth E) and a minor third (from E to the seventh G). This structure is not only found in the Am7 chord, but also in extended chords in transposed form. For detailed analysis, see our study on superimposing arpeggios.
