Fingering of the Symmetrical Scale

A symmetrical scale has a strictly regular structure with respect to the intervals between its notes. Expressed as a sequence of semitone and whole tone, the following formula applies:

Half Step/Whole Step   ½ 1   ½ 1   ½ 1   ½ 1
Whole Step/Half Step 1   ½ 1   ½ 1   ½ 1   ½
Whole Tone 1   1   1   1   1   1
Diminished 1½     1½     1½     1½
Augmented 2       2       2
